In response to 1st September article by Barbara Ellen: Oasis are back. So why all the hatred?

Barbara Ellen’s pitch-perfect piece on the unjust and bloated backlash around Oasis’ re-union posed the question: "Why do people love Oasis so much?"

Perhaps it is not, as Ellen suggests, their veneration of the working class; or their survival of an outwardly unstable and abusive childhood; or their demonstration that meritocracy in Britain can be believed in. Perhaps the answer is far more universal and simple: that the music is transcendentally good. And, to boot, their live shows were (are?) as good as it gets.

Talent like theirs speaks to all, across the ages.
